They aren't your stereotypical rockers. To look at them you would probably make some assumptions based on the looks and style of music. But you'd be wrong. I've followed them on Facebook for years but I've known them for decades. In fact, the twins behind Rok Hollywood may have been the first interview I've done with musicians - maybe back when I was in high school. It's been nearly 40 years ago so I can't say for sure whether it was for a local newspaper or the school paper. 

Their musical journey actually began in Beech Grove where they were raised, went to school, formed their first band.

In the near future I'd like to sit down and interview them again. Until then…

Rok Hollywood is an 80's Hard Rock ste band, specializing in originals, as well as cover songs. In the last several years, Rok Hollywood performed with Def Leppard/Journey, Sammy Hagar, George Thorogood, Foreigner, and Kid Rock at Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center. With Tesla at the Brown County Music Center. As well as with Warrant/Firehouse, at the Indiana State Fair.

Rok Hollywood has performed with Poison, Journey, Cinderella, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Ratt, Dokken, Warrant, Firehouse, Winger, Kip Winger, Tesla, Skid Row, Lynch Mob, LA Guns, Alice Cooper, Great White, Bret Michaels, Cheap Trick, Heart, Lita Ford, Autograph, Iron Maiden, New York Dolls, Bang Tango, Faster Pussycat, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Shooter Jennings, 3 Doors Down, and more. 

Rok Hollywood has performed at the Whisky in Hollywood, The Indiana State Fair, The Rose Theatre in Pasadena, California, King of Clubs in Nashville, Riverstar in Cincinnati, Phoenix Hill Tavern in Louisville, Verizon Wireless Music Center/Klipsch Music Center in Indianapolis, Brown County Music Center, 8 Seconds Saloon in Indianapolis, The Vogue Theater in Indianapolis, Hi-Fi in Indy, The Bluebird in Bloomington, Piere's in Ft. Wayne, and many other venues.

But, as impressive as this sounds, they want more.

PAINFUL CHANGE

Daren and David suffered an inexplicable loss when the smallest member of their band, Rok Star, passed away. If you ever saw the twins in public a lot of times Rok Star was with them…

We’ve been in the music business for 46 years. As much as we love music/Rok Hollywood. Rok Star meant even more to us. Our hearts are destroyed. The pain and emptiness are unbearable.

THE FUTURE

Our goals and dreams have always been to do big things, play on big stages, and play with the bands that we grew up listening to. We’ve done a lot. But there is still a lot to accomplish. There are bands that we haven’t played with yet. Not giving up. Nothing will stop us. Rejection doesn’t make us want to quit. It makes us try harder.
